And I'm Not Even Ashamed

I am in my office dancing to Sade and Corinne Bailey Rae. Of course, I'm doing so with the door closed because, hey, I've got a professional reputation to maintain. But I highly recommend.

Thing is, I'm doing this in order to focus on doing my work. If I just sit and try finishing my reports, I'll websurf instead and listen to comic podcasts and do nothing. This way, I'm on my feet, swaying my body, and turning reference pages. Then as I read and sway, I type the relevent info in my report documents.

Dancing! It's what's for dinner!

"Every day is Christmassss....
And every night ...
Is a New Year's EEEEeeeeeeeeeve ...

Will you keep on?
Will you keep on loving me?

Will you keep on
Bringing out the best in me ...?"

I love Sade! When I get married I'm taking my Sade Greatest Hits with me on my honeymoon!

Okay, I have it in writing right here that Sade is my aphrodesiac. Any chance you remember this, or are you my soulmate for real, or what? Because by all indications at this point, it's me you should be marrying.

I stayed late at work when I was contracting for IBM in Mountain View, CA. There was an Asian gentleman who was making nice with my soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend who also stayed late but thought he was alone. He cranked music and was dancing like Kevin Bacon in footloose, all flailing arms and legs. I watched from the open doorway and he didn't see me, and I almost let him have his dignity, but I couldn't resist a bit of an "Ahem!"

I do remember reading that post, Alan, but I wore grooves in my Sade cd loooong before you made that post. In fact, I used to own it on cassette tape until it got ruined when my car flooded (Wow, that was a long time ago.) But yeah, we have a lot of things in common, so I'm not surprised that we share a love of Sade.

Cassette tape?? I bow to your Sade-Fu, Grizz-chan. That's some history right there.
